Since 2009, the Bev Johnson My Praise, My Worship Music & Arts Ministry has been committed to supporting graduating high school seniors who demonstrate academic achievement, community leadership, and dedication to service across the DMV region. What began as a local initiative in Northern Virginia has grown into a multi-state scholarship program serving students in Washington, D.C., Maryland, and Northern Virginia.

For over 17 years, we have proudly invested in students who lead with integrity, serve with compassion, and pursue excellence in education, music, the arts, and civic engagement. We do not simply award scholarships; we invest in legacy.

Past Scholarship Awards:

Through our annual legacy scholarship awards, we recognize outstanding students in the following categories:

 

• My Praise, My Worship Book Scholarship - Awarded to multiple recipients to assist with academic books and educational materials as they begin their collegiate journey.

• Bev Johnson Community Service Scholarship - Presented to a graduating senior who has demonstrated measurable impact through consistent and meaningful community involvement.

• Bev Johnson Music & Arts Scholarship - Honors a student whose commitment to music and/or the arts has strengthened their leadership, confidence, and academic growth.

 

Applicants must:

• Be a graduating high school senior residing in Washington, D.C., Maryland, or Northern Virginia

• Maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0

• Provide proof of acceptance to an accredited two- or four-year college or university

• Demonstrate leadership, community involvement, or engagement in music and/or the arts

• All applications must be submitted by April 6, 2026 at 11:59 PM EST. Late or incomplete applications will not be considered.

• Bev Johnson My Praise, My Worship 17th Annual Scholarship Concert - August 1, 2026 - Scholarship recipients will be formally recognized during the concert in the summer.

  • This celebration honors our students’ achievements and the continued support of our community. Details regarding ceremony participation will be provided to awardees.
